Dr Mathilde Pavis

Dr Mathilde Pavis is an expert in intellectual property law, ethics and new technologies and runs her own consultancy, offering legal advice and training in IP and Contract Law. 

Mathilde has 10+ years experience in research and training. Her work has been cited by the UK Parliament to inform new laws on artificial intelligence. She now advises governments, organisations and businesses about the impact of digital and AI technologies on sensitive data. 

Mathilde has received over half-a-million pounds in grants to fund her research on the synthetisation of humans and the digitisation of sensitive data. With her most recent grant, Mathilde co-founded the UK’s first pro bono law and digitisation clinic designed to support cultural institutions (GLAM-E Lab).  

Mathilde writes for The Times and The Independent about law in new technologies, and has appeared on national programs for BBC Radio 4. She has written 50+ academic and online publications.
